Representing... Amber M Smith
Nonprofit Leader / Speaker / Consultant
Amber M Smith is the founder and executive director of Activate Good, a North Carolina based nonprofit that promotes volunteerism and assists other area nonprofits (on the order of a volunteer center). Her creative insightful community service presence has gained a number of honors and awards.
A speaker and workshop leader focused on community engagement, volunteerism, and nonprofit startups, Amber is often seen on the local news talking about community needs, volunteers, and upcoming community project events.
During the last few years, Amber has gained a wider audience in the USA and all over the world with her compelling and informative YouTube videos for changemakers who want to start and build their own nonprofits. She also prompts changemaking conversations through her Facebook group "Change the World or Bust". This higher internet presence has brought conslting request for Amber to assist others in moving forward with their nonprofit startup ideas (USA based clients only). To assist more people with their nonprofit startups, in 2021, Amber Smith created "Founder to Full-time Academy", with on-line self-directed course work prepared in detail and led through prerecorded videos, linked resources, as well as workbook pages each student can customize for their nonprofit startup.
The first course in the series, "Idea to Official", takes a student through nonprofit startup steps through filing USA non-profit status.
Amber earned her Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies (Social Change Leadership - her self-directed major) and her Masters studies in public administration with a non-profit focus from North Carolina State University.
In her free time, Amber enjoys singing (former vocal competitor and NC Honors Chorus participant), art (former competitor, current freelancer), and writing (school contest winner, publishes articles and blogs).
